Barclays' new man in the north

Barclays Corporate has appointed Chris Forrest (pictured) as head of manufacturing for the northern region. Forrest will be responsible for the delivery of corporate banking services to the manufacturing sector across the north east, north west and Yorkshire, leading a team of 30 manufacturing specialist relationship directors looking after more than 25% of manufacturing corporates in the region.

Forrest has been appointed as a member of the Barclays Industry Strategy Board, which develops national strategy, steers local relationship teams and helps drive Barclays commitment to help the UK's manufacturing base grow and remain competitive on a global scale. Forrest said: "I am delighted to lead this key sector for the bank across the northern region, supporting manufacturers with the challenges and opportunities they face in the current market." Graeme Allinson, head of UK manufacturing, Barclays Corporate, said: "I look forward to working with Chris in his new role as we utilise our team's extensive, UK-wide manufacturing expertise to help realise the ambitious business goals of our clients."
