Higher levels of productivity for complex manufacturers at significantly lower total cost of ownership is the promise from Cincom Systems for its latest version of Control ERP, now build on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 platform. Cincom says it’s now focusing on delivering solutions based on Microsoft technologies, and adds that the firm’s Manufacturing Business Solutions division is working closely with Microsoft on “a number of business and technology strategies”. Don Richardson, director Manufacturing Industry Solutions at Microsoft, says: “In a manufacturing setting, the pairing of Cincom’s Enterprise Management system and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 enables new levels in system interoperability and scalability.” Dave Schwarber, engineering director for Cincom Manufacturing Business Solutions, adds: “Today’s customers want choices. However they must work within the bounds of their current technology infrastructure. Cincom and Microsoft … are prepared to help these customers evolve, while helping them keep a careful eye on their total cost of ownership.” Cincom’s Enterprise Management system on Windows NT Server 4.0 and Unix will still be available.
