Automotive and industrial products manufacturer Gates Europe says that since implementing Sterling Commerce e-business software, one year ago, it has saved €400,000 through increased order efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Patricia Vauzelle, market services manager at Gates Europe, says that the system has also been instrumental in driving international expansion, increased electronic transactions for its 50,000 products by 22%, reduced time to market and cut costs associated with manual entries. Says Vauzelle: “More and more of our distributor partners were demanding an integrated tool to simplify their purchasing experience, and Sterling Multi-Channel Selling was the ideal solution. “Our distributors now find the entire searching, ordering and purchasing process simple and efficient – and this has resulted in a rise in the levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.” And she adds: “The solution has also helped drive Gates Europe into new markets, such as Eastern Europe and Turkey, as product information and order processes can be translated into regional languages and currencies with minimum turnaround time.” Sterling Catalog and Offer Management have been used to extend Gates Europe’s e-catalogue and e-commerce offerings, and the capabilities to all its 1,000-plus distributors, by providing tailored access to an online portal, which connects the external product catalogue to the internal order management systems.
