Business-to-business e-commerce software and services provider GXS's Trading Grid has been awarded the Software-as-a-Service Product of the Year trophy, at the 2011 Techworld Awards in London.

The cloud-based B2B integration platform was recognised for its technical excellence, innovation and customer references. "We are delighted that GXS Trading Grid has been named the SaaS Product of the Year," comments Bobby Patrick, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at GXS. "It's fantastic to get the recognition." And he adds: "Our customers have been consistently asking for a flexible, global integration platform that can handle all of their B2B transactions across their trading communities, including unstructured data as well as more traditional electronic invoices and purchase orders." GXS estimates that it has invested more than $200 million on the platform since 2004. It is now the largest global B2B e-commerce platform, managing around 10 billion transactions a year across 400,000 businesses, with more than 2,000 new businesses joining each month. Other winners in the annual Techworld Awards include: the SciVisum iPhone application monitor; the ChangeBASE web application compatibility testing software; the Spiceworks free network and systems management application; the Fluke Networks Aircheck Wi-Fi tester; the Dell Compellent SAN; and Salesforce's Chatter Mobile.
