Industry and defence ERP software firm IFS has announced that IFS Enterprise Explorer (IEE) is now Microsoft Windows 7 ready.
Dan Matthews, chief technology officer at IFS says this version of IEE is available with IFS Applications 7.5, and will " increase the usability of IFS Applications" through integration with "core features from the Windows 7 operating system".
He refers to features such as 'Jump Lists' and 'Federated Search', aimed at giving users quick and easy access to the business-critical information and functionality they work with every day.
"As business operations get increasingly complex, the IT applications and systems that support it need to do the exact opposite – become easier to use and help simplify the process of collecting and accessing business information," explains Matthews.
"Making the user experience as familiar and intuitive as possible is paramount to encouraging staff from all technical backgrounds to contribute to business systems," he adds.
IFS launched IEE earlier this year, because, as the firm puts it, the development team had identified a need for better-designed enterprise applications "that are as engaging, collaborative and intuitive as the web applications workers are familiar with".
