Invensys has completed its acquisition of MES (manufacturing execution system) software developer Cimnet, and is now integrating the company into the Wonderware software business unit.

It’s also integrating the systems using Invensys’ standards-based, ArchestrA technology, ready for seling to the Invensys and Wonderware installed base of more than 100,000 plants around the world. “Existing Cimnet systems will continue to be made available and enhanced for customers under the Wonderware Factelligence and DNC Professional brands,” says Richardson, former CEO of Cimnet and vice president of MES and production and performance management for Wonderware. “We are very confident that our past and future customers will be even better served by the depth and breadth of the Wonderware sales and support channel, third party systems integration partners, technology partners, and the full range of real-time, industrial software solutions,” he adds. “By integrating the powerful production model and configurable application modules from Cimnet, into the ArchestrA industrial services orientated architecture (SOA), including the extensible ArchestrA plant model, we fully expect to accelerate the delivery of even more functionality to our customers,” adds Mike Bradley, senor president of the Wonderware business unit of Invensys.
