Rolls-Royce will be offering manufacturing and engineering companies an insight into its innovation strategy at an industry event held in conjunction with leading new product development contractor Pera Technology.

The event, which will take place at Pera Technology's headquarters in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire at 9.30am on 25 September, will centre on a keynote speech from Professor Richard Parker, Rolls-Royce's director of research and technology. Professor Parker has worked for Rolls-Royce for over 35 years, having held various posts including chief of composites and ceramics, chief of compressor engineering, managing director of compressor systems and director of engineering and technology – civil aerospace. In his current role he is responsible for the direction and co-ordination of research and technology programmes across all the Rolls-Royce businesses worldwide. The event will see Professor Parker discuss the role of innovation within Rolls-Royce. He will also provide an insight into the company's supply chain and how it forms a crucial part of Rolls-Royce's innovation programme. Paul Tranter, CEO of Pera Technology, said: "In a crowded international manufacturing landscape, Rolls-Royce has always kept itself ahead of the curve via a savvy programme of R&D investment. Despite operating on a global scale, many of the practices and decisions can be related to those companies manufacturing on a smaller scale. "Innovation needs to be at the forefront of any company's business strategy if they are going to differentiate themselves from the competition. With many global manufacturers, such as Rolls-Royce, actively looking to invest in the right innovations there is a clear case for prioritising research and development." www.peratechnology.com/rolls-royce
