Teknos creates perfect finish with IFS Applications

Finnish paints manufacturer Teknos says it expects to improve visibility, integration and collaboration between group companies when it goes live with IFS Applications.

The solution, which will replace several existing ERP systems, is being implemented for Teknos' operations in Finland, Scandinavia, Germany, the UK, Poland, Slovenia and Russia. Raimo Anjala, Teknos CFO, says he expects the solution also to reduce IT cost as a result of economies of scale, achieved by supporting all operations and business processes in a single modern ERP solution. And he adds that operations will also benefit from standardisation of data structures and processes throughout the group. "We evaluated several solutions and vendors in our industry, but no one came close to the experience and successful implementations that IFS could demonstrate," says Anjala. "IFS Applications offers deep functionality for the paint industry. By using a standard application with a large customer base in the industry, we will get the benefit of ongoing development of industry-specific functionality and technologies in the future." Teknos has chosen IFS components for financials, supply chain, manufacturing, sales and marketing, service and maintenance. It is also going for document management, quality management, e-invoicing and business analytics, as well as an interface to Atrion Intelligent Authoring, to handle regulatory requirements and product compliance for the chemical industries.
