Safety barrier specialists A-SAFE have won what the judges described as a ‘fiercely tight contest’ to win the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Award category at the recent Made in the UK Awards.

The awards, which were held at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool, bring together regional winners for an overall national celebration of excellence in the UK’s manufacturing sector. A-SAFE were recognised not just for their focus on developing unique safety solutions, but also their exceptional overseas growth, accounting for over 75% of the company’s total profits in 2016.

A-SAFE were able to showcase their RackEye product – a combined device, remote app and digital dashboard that provides 24/7, real-time monitoring of racking structures, alerting users remotely when damage is detected.

The company have also been named in the HSBC International Track 200, a nationally recognised league table that ranks the 200 UK’s mid-market private companies with the fastest-growing international sales. A-SAFE were ranked in 82nd place on the list after averaging 48.5% growth in international sales over the past two years.

“To be recognised in both a national league table and awards ceremony in the same month is a fantastic achievement for us,” said James Smith, co-owner and director of A-SAFE. “We started out as a small business, and each of these achievements is confirmation that we’re driving the business forward and embracing A-SAFE’s exceptional growth.”
