Introducing an exciting new Factory Tour experience…

With the new-look Manufacturing Management comes Experience Days, a best-practice learning experience brought to you by Manufacturing Management’s editorial team.

We have teamed up with EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, to offer an extended offering to our world-class Factory Tour programme. As well as a chance to see behind-the-scenes at some of the UK’s leading manufacturing sites, including Aston Martin, Fujifilm and Siemens, an EEF representative will be on-hand to deliver a themed presentation to reinforce the message and learning experience of the day.

Check back here regularly to see the latest Experience Days and book your place.

Filtermist Experience Day - 25 January 2018, Telford

Tour the world-class purpose-built site of oil mist filters manufacturer, Filtermist, and learn how clean workshop air is a much-misunderstood aspect of manufacturing health & safety. As a global leader in its field, Filtermist provides a range of products and services designed to protect people from hazardous airborne contaminants.

The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (CoSHH) regulations relate to companies that use substances that could cause harm to people on site. These include chemicals, fumes, mist, vapours, dust and gases, which between them cause illness to thousands of workers across the country each year.

So important is this topic that the Health & Safety Executive is currently focused on reducing the rates of work-related lung disease through its Go Home Healthy campaign as part of its wider health & safety strategy for manufacturing.

This Experience Day will debunk some of the misconceptions around CoSHH and examine whether your site is doing enough to comply.

The day will also include a guest speaker from EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, who will be offering top tips to delegates on making sure your site is compliant with the latest regulations.

Filtermist has recently acquired Multi Fan Systems, which is also based at the Telford site. Multi Fan Systems specialises in customised air movement and filtration and extraction systems (fume extraction, VOC abatement, solvent recovery, odour control etc). Another recent addition to the Filtermist portfolio is Stoke-based Dustcheck which manufactures dust control equipment.

Representatives from Filtermist, Multi Fan and Dustcheck, including the Group’s dedicated LEV testing division, will all be in attendance on the day so visitors will be able to access information on removing a wide range of hazards from workplace air, not just oil mist.

This Experience Day is ideal for anyone who holds a health & safety role within their site, or works in a plant that is plagued with unclean air and wants to learn more about how to combat it.
