Heavy investment for Bolton start-up

Bolton-based manufacturer, Handrail Creations, is celebrating its fourth anniversary with the completion of £500,000 of investment in the past 12 months.

The firm, which began as a start-up business, has invested heavily in industry-leading production equipment that will aim to place the company at the forefront of the market.

Handrail Creations’ most recent investment was into a custom-built, state-of-the-art CNC machine. The machine will improve accuracy and speed up delivery to customers, allowing the firm to take on increasingly ambitious projects. The company’s portfolio already includes timber handrails in Google’s HQ in London, the Houses of Parliament and a slew of luxury housing developments.

Kenny Macfarlane, who was named Manufacturing Leader of the year at the 2017 Manufacturing Champions Awards, organised by MM, said: “Our growth over the last few years has been exceptional and a testament to the great team we have here, but also the quality of our luxury timber handrails. During our first four years, we’ve created a solid foundation that we can now build on to deliver even more to our customers, the half-a-million-pound investment is just the first step in this process.

“This latest CNC machine has been designed and commissioned by our engineering team and will allow us to increase capacity and reduce lead teams by 25% - making us the UK’s premier handrail specialist.”
