Costing from as little as £250 per seat, CAD and PDM software specialist, Enabled Systems, has just launched its new PDM product, ESysPDM, aimed squarely at the UK SME market. “Traditionally, small companies couldn’t afford to take advantage of the benefits that PDM systems offer,” explains Doug Brady, director at Enabled Systems. “We’ve removed the need for expensive consultancy and extra IT resource requirements. Critical staff, such as engineers and designers, are freed up to get on with their jobs rather than having to spend time advising system implementation experts and having to undergo training.” Sold off-the-shelf, the software includes functionality for the classification, controlled access, searching and retrieval of updated versions of drawings and associated engineering documents. “SMEs can now compete on a level playing field with larger organisations,” adds Brady. “The software helps solve key organisational and security problems, streamlining the communication of data within companies and improving their productivity.”
