Software tools that automate and side-step much of the task of application integration – via Microsoft’s BizTalk Server – were launched today by integration software firm Taviz Technology and Microsoft. Taviz for BizTalk Server Professional Version is for smaller projects, while Taviz for BizTalk Server Enterprise Version covers more complex, multi-system enterprise application integration requirements. These are packaged versions of Taviz’s existing eIntegration Suite (which takes the time and expense out of manually coding adapters by automating application and business logic integration) that link the firm’s Intelligent Adapter technology with Microsoft BizTalk Server. The firm already provides nearly 300 pre-built Intelligent Adapter interfaces that contain the application logic and validation rules at the business module level for packaged applications, including Oracle, PeopleSoft, Siebel, JD Edwards and Ariba. Now the firm says companies will be able to build XML- and web-based dynamic business processes that span applications, platforms and businesses. They will also be able to ‘integrate’ all types of databases, legacy systems and packaged ERP, supply chain, CRM and e-business applications. “Connecting applications and systems is one of the most difficult and time consuming tasks in any integration project – no matter how large or how small,” says Morgan Gerhart, vice president of analyst Meta Group. “With a consistent adapter framework, solution providers will be able to implement integrations with a consistent methodology, better leverage scarce application specific expertise, and reduce integration deployment time and expense,” he adds. “The Taviz for Biz Talk Professional and Enterprise Versions open up a whole new set of business opportunities for Solution Providers,” said Cheryl Traverse, president and CEO of Taviz. “There is a significant number of small to medium size integration projects that didn’t make sense for Solution Providers to target because they were too complex to tackle without the integration automation technology and pre-built intelligent adapters that we offer.”
