Works Management relaunches as Manufacturing Management

UK manufacturing magazine Works Management has been brought into the 21st Century following a major rebrand and name change.

The Kent-based publication, which has been the leading voice of UK manufacturing for 70 years, has relaunched as Manufacturing Management magazine following a six-month consultation process with readers across the UK.

Alongside the name change comes a new look, design and feel. All pages in the magazine including feature pages, news round-up pages, and opinions pages have been tweaked and adjusted with new layouts and colours. A series of features have also been added such as ’60 seconds with’ – a quick-fire Questions and Answers style interview page with senior figures in industry – with the relaunch issue featuring Terry Scuoler, chief executive of EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation.

Furthermore, the old Works Management news website has been updated. Under the new Manufacturing Management title, readers will still have access to daily industry news stories and suppliers, but in a much simpler and user-friendly format.

Chris Beck, editor of Manufacturing Management, said:Works Management has been landing on the desks of manufacturing managers for the past 70 years. In that time, the industrial landscape of the UK has changed beyond all recognition, but Works Management has stood firm through it all. It has been an honour, therefore, to help lead the way with this rebrand, which I feel will bring the publication, website and associated events more into line with what today’s industrial giants are looking to read about.”

Manufacturing Management is one of several business-to-business brands run at MA Business, part of media company The Mark Allen Group. The magazine and website rebranding brings the publication in line with its series of events that includes the Manufacturing Management Conference, Manufacturing Management Show, Manufacturing Management Champions Awards, and Manufacturing Management Factory Tours.

Luke Webster, publishing director of MA Business, said: “The UK manufacturing sector is a thriving community and Manufacturing Management reaches the senior management teams making the critical decisions that will improve their businesses. Despite the uncertainty of Brexit, manufacturers are remaining strong, investing, developing new ways of working, and above all, showing that the UK is a force to be reckoned with.”

Manufacturing Management was officially launched at the HQ of EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation.
