Experience Days, a show and an awards ceremony – we’ve got it all.

EEF Experience Day
21 November 2017
Aston

Tour EEF's world-class training hub in Aston, Birmingham, on 21 November. You will learn how to prepare your workforce for the changing manufacturing industry, hear from EEF representatives about how they are helping manufacturers meet these challenges at their state-of-the art training complex in central Birmingham.

The day will also involve a tour of the Technology Hub, with the chance to quiz apprentices on their experiences and see first-hand the latest in machining, virtual reality and integrated technology.

Industry 4.0 - the concept of implementing smart, interconnected factories using data and technology is enabling manufacturers to make huge leaps in productivity, efficiency and competitiveness. It’s shaping a drive for new skills and capability within the UK manufacturing workforce. Gone are the days when manufacturing was a low-skilled job or career option. The future manufacturing workforce will need to comprise people who are at the cutting edge of technological development with the capability of performing high-skill activities in areas such as R&D, low volume manufacture of complex/high value products, bringing new products to market – all whilst working in networks of organisations which are spread across several countries.

So,
• What will the manufacturing workforce of the future look like?
• What kinds of trends and developments in future manufacturing work can be expected?
• What skills and leadership capabilities are required to support the factories of the future?

This factory experience event will address these questions and more. Hosted at EEF’s Technology Training Hub in the Midlands - a new multi-million pound centre devoted entirely to attracting, developing and upskilling today’s and tomorrow’s future engineering and manufacturing workforce.

Tour places are priced at £350 per person (£315 for groups of 3 or more). For more information and to book a place, click here.

These are just some of the stellar sessions that the Manufacturing Management Show (MMS) has lined up. Set to build on the success of 2016, MMS is returning to Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on 22 and 23 November and is the must-attend event of the year for anyone looking to run a successful manufacturing site. Filtermist Experience Day
12 December 2017
Telford

Tour the world-class purpose-built site of oil mist filters manufacturer, Filtermist, and learn how clean workshop air is a much-misunderstood aspect of manufacturing health & safety. As a global leader in its field, Filtermist provides a range of products and services designed to protect people from hazardous airborne contaminants.

The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (CoSHH) regulations relate to companies that use substances that could cause harm to people on site. These include chemicals, fumes, mist, vapours, dust and gases, which between them cause illness to thousands of workers across the country each year.

So important is this topic that the Health & Safety Executive is currently focused on reducing the rates of work-related lung disease through its Go Home Healthy campaign as part of its wider health & safety strategy for manufacturing.

This Experience Day will debunk some of the misconceptions around CoSHH and examine whether your site is doing enough to comply.
The day will also include a guest speaker from EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, who will be offering top tips to delegates on making sure your site is compliant with the latest regulations.

Filtermist has recently acquired Multi Fan Systems, which is also based at the Telford site. Multi Fan Systems specialises in customised air movement and filtration and extraction systems (fume extraction, VOC abatement, solvent recovery, odour control etc). Another recent addition to the Filtermist portfolio is Stoke-based Dustcheck which manufactures dust control equipment.

Representatives from Filtermist, Multi Fan and Dustcheck, including the Group’s dedicated LEV testing division, will all be in attendance on the day so visitors will be able to access information on removing a wide range of hazards from workplace air, not just oil mist.
This Experience Day is ideal for anyone who holds a health & safety role within their site, or works in a plant that is plagued with unclean air and wants to learn more about how to combat it.

Tour places are priced at £350 per person (£315 for groups of 3 or more). For more information and to book a place, click here.
