25 – 26 February 2015, Royal College of Surgeons, London

The Energy from Waste conference has been running for eleven years, and regularly attracts well over 200 senior level people from all aspects of the waste to energy industry. As the leading event for this diverse and growing sector, Energy from Waste covers the policy environment, both from the UK and the EU, and explores market opportunities and technology developments. It considers plant and technology efficiency, heat delivery and high value outputs from Advanced Conversion Technologies such as fuels and industrial gases. In 2015 the programme will also look at plant upgrading and operational optimisation. Attendees are senior level, and networking and business development are important factors during the two day event. Around a third of the attendees are from overseas, and both inward investment, and export of knowledge, expertise and technology are important aspects for many attendees. This international element of the conference is growing as the drive for both energy and sustainable waste management practices are moving forward in many countries. The event also features a site visit to a relevant plant, a dinner on the first evening and frequent opportunities during the event to discuss the issues raised during sessions and develop contacts. The conference has recently launched a new initiative, the Energy from Waste essays. This is a series of high-level pieces, written by industry leaders, providing an informed analysis of key issues facing the waste, resource management and waste to energy industries. They have proved exceptionally popular and are available for download now. The first essay was written by David Palmer-Jones, CEO of SITA UK, Chairman of the Environmental Services Association and now Chairman of FEAD, the European Federation representing the European waste management industry. The essay series provides invaluable insights into one of the most diverse and rapidly developing sectors in the UK and internationally. You can download the essays at www.efwlondon.eu .
