Added capacity for Arco's distribution centre

The UK’s leading safety company, Arco, has created additional capacity and improved its service capabilities thanks to a £4 million investment in its National Distribution Centre (NDC) in Hull.

A new mezzanine floor has doubled the number of pack benches at the site, and upgraded software and conveyor systems have increased the company’s picking and packing capabilities for customer orders.

Arco used the expertise of the staff at the NDC, who assisted in the design of the new bench pack area, and meant the transition to the new system was as seamless as possible.

“The enhancement to our NDC fulfils phase one of our extensive plans for growth,” said Neil Griffiths, divisional director of logistics and supply chain at Arco. “We recently had planning permission approved on a new building, which will double the size of our warehousing and distribution facilities. This significant investment will provide us with the supply chain infrastructure to support our ambitious growth plans.”
