AGW rents combined MRP/CRM system for demand-driven manufacturing

Electronic components and assemblies manufacturer AGW Electronics is implementing Rent-IT Systems' 123mrp.Net CRM option, which it was also instrumental in helping to build.

Says director Nigel Godwin: "I was very excited when Rent-IT told me they were looking at CRM. I'd shied away from CRM in the past as I'd heard reports that CRM can run the company rather than the company running the CRM. "When Rent-IT explained that it would be opened up to be more than just customer relations – to also cover customers, suppliers and internal staff – I thought it was great." Now the organisation, which went live with Rent-IT's core rented 123mrp.Net ERP system back in 2006 (saving a claimed £100,000 and instead paying £1,000 per month), is also looking at extending it for a distribution arm of the business, rather than buying a separate system. "When dealing with Rent-IT you feel, quite rightly, that you are dealing with a company that cares and has the ability to refer things to the development team, rather than being a 'take it or leave it' situation," comments Godwin. And he cites several examples, such as: the rental cost is similar to the maintenance of others' systems; its electronic training documentation can be customised; Rent-IT added alternative BOM functionality, as required; and the system has been integrated with Datafile accounting software.
