Avago goes for GXS B2B managed services for efficient supply chain

Semiconductor systems supplier and Agilent Technologies spin-off Avago Technologies is now linking with 160 of its trading partners around the world using GXS Managed Services.

Avago, which conducts more than 100,000 e-commerce transactions per year, says it wanted a B2B e-commerce provider that could support multiple standards and protocols, while also providing effective integration with its global base of customers and suppliers. Avago used GXS in part to ensure a smooth transition from Agilent, and says it minimised disruption to customers and partners alike, also providing an efficient supply chain solution that will scale for the future. That done, it’s now effectively getting top level B2B e-commerce functionality – able to communicate with suppliers and customers of any size and type, anywhere in the world. It also enabled Avago’s internal resources to focus on implementing its SAP ERP system. GXS is known primarily for B2B outsourcing projects, and is seeing considerable growth, particularly in high tech manufacturing, which is largely driven by e-commerce and supply chain efficiencies.
