Babcock Marine buys $1.5 million worth of IFS Applications ERP

Babcock Marine, which provides engineering and support services to the Royal Navy, has signed a $1.5 million contract to implement IFS Applications.

The company says its new ERP system is being deployed to support operations, improve efficiency and reduce costs. The company is currently responsible for three-quarters of the annual maintenance and refit load to support the Royal Navy’s surface ships. It is also the leading submarine support provider to the Royal Navy and was earlier this year awarded the In-service support contract for the Canadian government’s four Victoria class submarines. The Babcock Group has been using IFS Applications since 2000 in its Marine, Defence Services, Rail, Networks and Infrastructure Services divisions. Now, Babcock Marine says it will use the system for finance, supply chain, manufacturing, projects, maintenance, human resources, payroll and business performance.
