BITA announces raft of appointments

A raft of appointments and reorganisation of responsibilities has been announced by the British Industrial Truck Association (BITA).

Longstanding BITA member and former two-time President David Rowell is retiring following 44 years in the industry at Hyster-Yale. His colleague Simon Munn takes over responsibilities for liaison with the British Material Handling Federation and the Fédération Européenne de la Manutention.

Victoria Hutson, an engineer with over 18 years’ experience and who has been with JCB for six years, has been appointed to the BITA Board. She will be responsible as BITA technical director.

Other changes include:
Mike Barton – appointed IMHX chairman and liaison on behalf of BITA
Simon Barkworth – appointed 1st Vice-President
David Goss – appointed BITA technical manager
Mike Mathias – a retiring member of the BITA Board, is replaced by David Callis on the CFTS Board

James Clark, secretary-general of BITA, said: “Our retiring members have given many years of selfless service and dedication to their companies, to BITA, and to their fellow members – and we wish them a happy and well deserved retirement.

“I would like to go on to welcome those coming onto the Board and taking on new responsibilities – I know that BITA and its members are in safe hands, and that they will work together to maintain BITA’s influence and leadership.”
