Buck & Hickman’s Mobile Centre of Excellence has visited Brammer’s customer, EDF Energy’s Torness station, which means the specialist tool and personal protective equipment (PPE) vehicle has notched up its 200th customer event.

The Mobile Centre of Excellence hit the road in 2014 and features interactive product displays showcasing innovations in PPE as well as hand and power tools from more than 25 world class manufacturers.

On the day of the visit, the vehicle’s displays were customised to the needs of a nuclear facility, including an installation of the Facom Safety Lock system. Spark resistant and restricted access tooling were also shown to the EDF engineers and maintenance technicians.

Ian Ritchie, managing director of Buck & Hickman, said: “Cultivating long-term partnerships allows us to add maximum value for our customers, and the Mobile Centre of Excellence is a key part of this approach.

“We continually review and update the product demonstration rigs on board to ensure our displays are always up to date and thought-provoking, allowing us to share the latest innovations with our customers.”

At EDF Energy, the Mobile Centre of Excellence was accompanied by one of a fleet of specialist tool demonstration vehicles, which showcase top-of-the-range hand and power tools from suppliers including the Roebuck range of tools and specialist equipment available exclusively through Brammer and Buck & Hickman.
