CDC Software launches Ross ERP in the cloud

1 min read

Billed as the SaaS (software as a service) ERP solution for process manufacturing businesses, Ross in the Cloud, from CDC Software will cut initial ERP costs and minimise IT overheads and maintenance.

That's the claim from CDC Software UK managing director Paul Elswood, who explains that the solution is essentially its popular Ross ERP solutions suite reworked for a secured cloud environment. Elswood explains that it covers the Ross manufacturing, distribution and financial applications, and is aimed primarily at medium-size process manufacturing businesses – offering them, he says, ERP capabilities previously only available to much larger enterprises. We're talking about financials, inventory control, manufacturing, maintenance management, process planning, purchasing, sales order processing, vendor management inventory and business analytics, as well as CDC's TraceExpress, for backward and forward traceability. "With Ross in the Cloud, CDC Software gives businesses choices in their deployment options, from on-premise to on-demand, to suit their current and future needs," comments Elswood. "Ross ERP offers cloud customers the flexibility to move easily to an on-premise ERP solution later, if their business grows or demands change, without needing to re-implement the software and disrupt the business. The new cloud ERP solution also helps reduce overall operational IT costs for manufacturers, and provides high scalability and security," he adds. Availability is immediate in North America and will be come to Europe and the UK during the second half of 2011.
