James Wyse has been appointed to the newly created role of National Sustainability Lead at EEF, the manufacturers' organisation. The move is part of a planned relaunch of EEF's environmental sustainability service.

Wyse's team will support manufacturers with their sustainability agenda, including the transition to ISO14001:2015, energy and carbon management, the Energy Management System 50001, resource efficiency and compliance.

Wyse will be responsible for growing the breadth and depth of EEF's sustainability offering and developing key strategic partnerships in order to provide up-to-date and accessible solutions for manufacturers looking to improve their environmental performance and to identify and reduce their future environmental business risks to help ensure sustainable growth.

He joined EEF in 2012 as a climate and environment consultant. He has a HND in mineral processing and materials reclamation, a BSC in science and a MSc with distinction in environmental management for business. He also has practical experience in the field – previous roles include group environment manager, group sustainability manager, and environment and health and safety manager in a career in the brewery industry spanning just over 20 years.

Wyse is a full member of IEMA (the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) and a Chartered Environmentalist. He is married with two children and is a primary school governor and chairman of a local cricket team in his spare time.
