QuEST (Quality Engineering and Software Technologies) Global Manufacturing says it has invested in Preactor scheduling software to improve OTIF metrics.

The firm, which is specialises in integrated product development and build, has installed Preactor's finite planning and scheduling software in its Belgaum plant to help meet growing demand across precision manufacturing, sheet metal fabrication, and tooling, fixtures and gauges design. Aravind Melligeri, president and CEO of QuEST, explains that until now, QuEST has relied on spreadsheets to plan its resources for its customised, end-to-end design and manufacturing work. But following substantial growth, it needed a high-tech solution to effectively schedule capacity and ensure it delivers on time. Melligeri says Preactor will enable his company to take production-, material- and delivery-related decisions in advance, because staff will now have complete visibility of the production plan. "Preactor became our choice, because it is a global leader in production planning and scheduling," he explains. "Its partner, SNic India, is an expert in providing industrial engineering solutions, giving us a good software application as well as functional expertise," he continues. "We anticipate that with the implementation of Preactor, effective decisions will be taken faster to ensure total customer satisfaction."
