Fujitsu Siemens Computers and EMC deliver building blocks for SAP Enterprise SOA

Reduced cost of ownership, improved information management and protection plus an adaptable and flexible, risk-free computing infrastructure – those are the promises from Fujitsu Siemens Computers and EMC Corporation for the new FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite v4.0.

FlexFrame is central to Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ Dynamic Data Centre (DDC) strategy, which is about enabling organisations to hack into the cost of maintaining IT infrastructures. It’s aimed particularly at large organisations running Enterprise SOA (service orientated architecture) technology from existing SAP applications on Unix or Linux and wanting the benefits of adaptive computing. Developed in conjunction with SAP, the system improves the availability and support of SAP applications, providing a sound basis for Enterprise SOA and adaptive computing, not least by strengthening the bond between the Adaptive Computing Controller (ACC) – part of SAP NetWeaver – at the infrastructure level, and clombining the ACC and FlexFrame at the virtualisation layer. “FlexFrame is designed to accelerate the development and exploitation of new business opportunities in response to changing market conditions,” says Bernd Kosch, vice president alliances, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “By working with EMC, we are providing … customers with new storage networking capabilities and benefits.” “SAP customers now have a superior choice to deliver higher levels of performance, flexibility and availability,” adds Chuck Hollis, EMC, vice president of technology alliances. The system is due to enter pilot production in February 2007 followed by full production in May.
