Government funding for Midlands automotive firm

Tier one automotive manufacturer Cab Automotive is one of 130 firms to share £1 billion from the government's latest regional growth fund allocation.

The Tipton, West Midlands based business will be using the funds to secure existing jobs and create a further 66. John Faulkner (pictured), Cab Auto's MD, said: "The Black Country has a stiff challenge to create new jobs and we are very pleased to be able to create new opportunities which would not have been possible without this grant." Cab Automotive manufactures interior components such as seating, moulded carpet and parcel shelves for JLR, Aston Martin, McLaren, Honda, Toyota and Bentley. The government has committed to ensuring third round funds are allocated within six months, after criticism that some grants from rounds one and two were still awaiting sign off.
