Syspro (formerly Impact Encore) ERP distributor Information Engineering has just acquired Eagle Systems and IMS (Integrated Manufacturing Software), UK and Irish Syspro software distributors and implementers respectively, making it one of the world’s largest for Syspro. Both organisations become part of the Information Engineering Group right away, retaining all staff, and more or less doubling the group’s user base. Eagle, based in Reading, provides greater coverage of the south, while IMS, based in Galway and Dublin, becomes Information Engineering Ireland, with around 50 Syspro ERP sites in Ireland. Information Engineering has names like the TBI group, Saxon Specialist Vehicles, Dartington Crystal, Relyon Beds and Sandiacre Packaging. Eagle adds, for example, Photo-Me, Rusch Manufacturing, API Group, Moss Pharmacy and Wika Instruments. And IMS users include ABB, Basta Parsons, Nelipak Thermoforming, Smurfit and TFX Medical. The last six months has seen a period of considerable change for the Syspro leaders in the UK – Information Engineering and McGuffie Brunton. The overall group launched its new version of Syspro (v6), and rationalised its software module offerings world-wide across the affiliates with, for example, Information Engineering’s Real time Factory becoming Syspro APS (advanced planning and scheduling). It’s clear that there’s more to come. Directors at McGuffie Brunton and Information Engineering are making no secret of their desire to capitalise on the global Syspro group size, financial security and industrial strenght. For now, Information Engineering managing director Pat McCarthy says: “In this day and age, IT vendors have to deliver manufacturers a real return on investment. The new shape of the organisation allows us to deliver real business benefits for even more manufacturers.”
