JSW Steel has selected Broner Metals Solutions for its MES (manufacturing execution system) and APS (advanced planning and scheduling) software project at the Vijyanagar plant, in India.

The Broner systems are to be closely coupled with JSW's SAP ERP systems as the plant – the largest single location steel plant – is expanded from 10 MTPA capacity to 12 MTPA. The JSW plant currently consists of a large cold rolling mill complex (CRM1), with a second cold rolling mill (CRM2) currently under construction and planned for completion in August 2013. The Broner manufacturing performance software will be implemented by Broner Metals Solutions and JSoft, starting with the MES installation at JSW's new cold rolling mill (CRM2). According to David Mushin, CEO of Broner Metals Solutions, his company's MES and APS software was selected because of its configurability, ease of implementation, cost effective maintenance and early delivery of business benefits. "The new integrated solution will enable JSW to achieve significant business benefits, and we look forward to forming a long standing business relationship with JSW," states Mushin.
