Komatsu to implement Servigistics service management

Construction and mining equipment manufacturer Komatsu says that, following its successful north American implementation last year, the company has selected Servigistics software to manage its service parts globally.

Hitoshi Mozumi, general manager of Komatsu’s product support division, says that the new system will increase first time fill rates, reduce associated costs and expediting fees, and improve customer satisfaction and loyalty. “Streamlining our parts inventory throughout our supply chain is critical for us and we selected Servigistics to achieve that goal. In our global deployment, we seek to improve the quality of service delivery to our worldwide customers, streamline our consolidated parts inventory, and level our productions by more tightly integrating Servigistics solution to our sales and production plans,” says Mozumi. Komatsu intends to extend its Servigistics solution to its whole network of suppliers, regional parts distribution centres and dealers across all regions. Mozumi believes that will lead to global visibility and optimisation on a single inventory planning system. In the first phase, he says that Komatsu will deploy a global inventory planning platform, share inventory planning information between and promote collaboration with suppliers. Next, the company says it will deploy common processes and move on to promote collaboration with dealers on inventory and fulfilment planning.
