The findings explored fluctuations in salaries, jobs and applications in March 2019, comparing these findings with the previous month. It found that despite these upward trends, average pay for new manufacturing roles declined by a marginal -1.36% month-on-month, as employers in the industry continue to try and cut costs.
Lee Biggins, CEO of CV-Library, commented: “Our findings complement recent reports from IHS Markit that the manufacturing industry is booming and it's clear that employers are moving forward with their hiring efforts, though are remaining cautious around pay. However, the jobs boom is being well received by candidates, who appear to be feeling more confident about their employment prospects and are searching and applying for more jobs than in February.”
As well as this, the amount of manufacturing professionals registering their CVs online with CV-Library has increased by a staggering 22.9% year-on-year, suggesting that more individuals are starting to consider looking for jobs.
Biggins continued: “While it’s tempting to freeze your recruitment plans because of uncertainty around Brexit, our data suggests that companies have a larger pool of talent to choose from right now.”
