MAS helps laser cutting specialist beam again

A surge in demand for its precise laser cutting services has seen a Suffolk-based manufacturer record 25% growth in the last 12 months.

Wrightform, which moved into its Progress Way factory in Eye five years ago, has won new orders from customers in the automotive, food processing and offshore oil and gas market. Backed by support from the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS), the company has increased turnover to £2.5m and created eight new jobs. It marks what has been an exciting period for the firm, with investment in new 'Timesavers Edge Radiusing' and press brake machines, increasing its capacity and speed of turnaround considerably. This means Wrightform now currently offers laser cutting, punching, shearing, bending, fabrication and machining services for prototypes, single parts and low to medium volumes. "We are delighted with the growth we've enjoyed, but when it happens so quickly you have to make sure you can handle it effectively… basically ensuring both new and existing customers receive the same high levels of quality and performance," explained Jane Everett-Page, Deputy General Manager. Wrightform produces anything from conveyor systems and aluminium parts for Formula 1 cars to plates used in the construction of oil rigs. On-time customer delivery is up 15%, cycle time of proofs has been reduced by 50% and an impressive 99% right first time score now achieved.
