A new recipe for success is being cooked up by a Park Royal company who supply egg free muffins to Asda and Tesco.

American Muffin Co. recently moved into larger premises but needed expert advice on the most effective factory layout…and the London Manufacturing Advisory Service provided the essential ingredients. Park Royal has become the food manufacturing hub of London and MAS specialists are providing ongoing support to a number of local businesses. The company, which employs 12 people, has achieved particular success in a niche market supplying egg free muffins and is currently negotiating with Tesco to supply to an extra 40 branches as well as negotiating with other supermarkets to supply its gluten free muffins and other ranges. Director Zoeb Bhujwalla says: “Moving into our new premises meant that we had a fresh opportunity to create an ultra efficient working environment, and one which would enable us to increase productivity. We were approached by Kourosh Saminipour from London MAS, who told us about the benefits of creating a lean manufacturing environment…We welcomed a fresh insight into our company.” As a result of London MAS support, the company will see an increase in people productivity by 20%, improved space utilisation of 30% and an increased turnover of £80,000.
