New release offers better manufacturing control

Manufacturing management is said to be slicker and more competitive under Planit Software control, thanks to the introduction of its e2i 2010 R1 release.

The company cites its stock control, which has now been redesigned to make management more intuitive – enabling, for example, users to manage the total quantity of a stock item in relation to real time supply and demand, rather than individual allocations. Dave Caughley, development manager for e2i, explains: "With the current cost of materials, every extra job that can be squeezed out of stored material is a financial boost to our customers." He also points to enhancements to the Sybase PowerBuilder and InfoMaker tools that give users a new environment to create reports. Incidentally, the new release also supports both Windows Vista and Microsoft's latest release Windows 7.
