New speakers announced for SMAS

More high-profile speakers have been announced for the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service (SMAS) National Conference at the Westerwood Hotel, Cumbernauld, from 7-8 September.

Some of the new names include Dr Lena Wilson, chief executive of Scottish Enterprise, and Keith Brown, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Clackmannanshire and Dunblane.

They join Dr Hamid Mughal, global director of manufacturing at Rolls-Royce and Rhys Herbert, senior macroeconomist, commercial banking at Lloyds Bank in discussing Scottish manufacturing with over 400 manufacturing professionals.

The conference, called A Manufacturing Future for Scotland, will feature the biggest names in manufacturing, who will be discussing their vision for the future of the manufacturing sector in the region. Sponsored by Bank of Scotland, the event will bring together expertise from companies of all sizes, across all manufacturing sectors.

Day one of the two-day event will feature site visits plus a gala dinner, while day two will see a programme of keynote speakers and panel discussions, plus a series practical workshops that have been designed to provide practical advice to a range of business questions.
