Oldelval improves pipeline maintenance on Infor EAM

Argentine crude oil transportation firm Oldelval says it has improved maintenance and performance since implementing Infor EAM Enterprise Edition.

The system is now managing maintenance and performance for more than 1,700 km of oil pipeline and turbines at 16 pumping stations. Oldelval is also using Infor FMS SunSystems, which it says is simplifying and enhancing financial processes. Says Jose Luis Vega, Oldelval engineering manager: "We transport more than 30,000 cubic meters of crude oil daily. EAM Enterprise Edition allows us to manage linear assets and enables us to define an asset in terms of a linear detail, like length and geographic reference." Most important, Vega says the new system now provides reference points every 12 meters. "We can now write work orders against any portion of the asset by specifying 'to and from' points of a portion of the pipeline. This greatly simplifies our work, shortens repair times and creates efficiencies throughout the company," he explains. He says that infor was selected partly on the basis of its relatively low total cost of ownership, but also the organisation's track record of successful implementations. Another key factor in Infor's selection was the ability to seamlessly migrate Oldelval's historic data to the new solutions.
