Global online IT hosting provider Peer 1 Hosting has today (2 February 2012) announced an alliance deal with Oracle ATG (Art Technology Group) partner e2x that it believes will shake up the mid market for e-commerce.

According to James Spalding, managing director of e2x, the alliance will offer businesses currently wanting to expand their online presence a cost effective, all-in-one e-commerce solution that includes world-wide hosting services. He also cites e2x's ATG Accelerator, which, he says, provides ATG's best in class feature set at a low cost of ownership. Says Spalding: "Our ATG Accelerator is purpose built and includes what we see as common core requirements. It is designed to support multi-platform usage [PC, mobile etc] and enables new countries and languages to be rolled out in minutes, without technical development." Spalding states that Peer 1's 10Gb FastFiber network will result in a significant reduction in bounce rates and empty shopping carts for customers. "This combined with the in-house expertise and an environment optimised for online retail, means I am confident that we can offer global ecommerce companies the right environment to build their business," he says.
