Globus Group will make 1.3 billion specialist masks for frontline NHS staff at the new plants in Dumfries and Warrington (CGI pictured) which will create over 600 new jobs.
The funding will also help the Manchester headquartered group - one of the world’s leading manufacturers of PPE for hand, eye, head, hearing and respiratory protection - to support its international manufacturing and growth.
Once fully operational, the two plants will be capable of producing one billion medical masks, 200 million respirator masks, 100 million face masks and 22 million visors annually. This will be a significant percentage of Scotland’s and England’s health and social care needs, in their fight against COVID-19.
