QAD Enterprise Applications 2010 is faster and more functional

QAD Enterprise Applications is now on general availability, with functionality claimed to help both existing and new QAD users to "address their challenges and work towards recovery".

Says QAD president and founder Pamela Lopker: "The economic environment has been challenging for manufacturers, with a fall in demand, margin pressure, reduced IT staffing, structural changes and users being asked to perform new and more tasks. "Many of our customers need help, and that's what we've focused on in QAD 2010 – with better usability, more access to data and faster deployment. We see ourselves as partners in the recovery process." Lopker believes the demand for more rapid access to information and flexible business processes has stressed IT organisations that had already seen reduced budgets and smaller headcounts. QAD 2010, she insists, enables global manufacturers to continue to drive operational effectiveness by getting more from their IT investment and "delivering solutions that enable doing more with less across the entire organisation". She also points to QAD's 'Easy On-Boarding', which makes complex implementations relatively simple, with users up and running in days, not months. Looking in brief detail at the functionality hike, enhancements include: QAD Business Intelligence, which now harnesses a star schema and new analysis tools; QAD Enterprise Financials, with 43 new operational metrics built in; and QAD Customer Management, now with a new configurator interface. And there are many others, dealing with everything from manufacturing materials transfer to lean manufacturing, factory asset management and supply chain operations and optimisation.
