SME accounting software vendor Sage, which has a considerable pedigree in UK industry, inlcuding the manufacturing sector has just acquired one of its closest manufacturing-centric partner-distributors, Promis Software. Promis has been a Sage Line 50 in manufacturing specialist for years, with integration just about as tight as you’re going to get it from separate organisations – and certainly all the ‘lok and feel’. The acquisition completes Sage’s lineup of software for industry – with Sage Line 500 in the upper end of SME, and 50 at the lower end. Currently, there are around 300 Promis users in the UK and overseas. As for functionality, it’s everything from Promis Multi-Dox (which enables items from multiple sales orders in Sage to be combined onto one delivery note/invoice) to Promis Bill of Materials, Job Costing 2000, the Batch and Job Controllers and the Promis mixed-mode Manufacturing suite.
