SAP announced yesterday that it is collaborating with Intel to optimise SAP Business One applications on Intel Xeon processor-based systems so that small businesses can cut the cost of their systems.
The intention, says Niels Stenfeldt, SAP’s vice president for Business One, is to encourage ISVs to create industry-specific bundles based on the collaboration – such as that already introduced for professional services firms through Intel’s OEM Wortmann and SAP software solution partner Maringo Computers.
“This extension … is another milestone for SAP in delivering the right solutions to small businesses,” says Stenfeldt. “In today’s market, it is more critical than ever that small businesses manage their operations effectively and profitably.”
“We continue to collaborate with SAP to bring new affordable solutions to market,” comments Richard Curran, director of enterprise marketing and software solutions at Intel. “SAP Business One optimised to run on Intel Xeon with Intel virtualization technology delivers improved performance and manageability.”
The announcement was made at Hannover’s CeBIT 2009 IT show, and is being seen as a significant expansion of SAP’s Business One industry solutions programme.
