WM roundtable tackles outsourcing debate

1 min read

WM is calling on manufacturing IT managers to help us debate whether outsourcing operations really results in a slicker business.

The Managed Technology Services IT roundtable, held in partnership with IT specialist Star, will discuss whether day-to-day IT technology, services and responsibilities are better off in-house or in the hands of a third party. The roundtable discussion will be held on 22 November from 12pm-4pm at Sauterelle resetaurant, the Royal Exchange, London. Delegates will assess which operational, manufacturing and business areas could benefit from managed technology services. The roundtable will also investigate the potential pitfalls of outsourcing including data security and a loss of control over IT strategy. The discussion will be informed by an extensive reader survey on the IT habits of UK manufacturers. The research will set out where manufacturers see the biggest opportunities for managed technology services from Back Office, product design and innovation to shop floor and production systems and customer relationship management. If you are a manufacturing manager dealing with IT issues then we want to hear from you. Sign up for the event by emailing: jknox@findlay.co.uk
