Linde Material Handling UK’s Brian Grady, national field sales director, worked with Ebuyer to find an optimum materials handling solution within the warehouse, which distributes up to 70,000 products a week. Grady says: “Ebuyer is a rapidly growing business and needed a materials handling solution that would maximise warehouse storage and speed up operations.” After a full evaluation of the business operation Linde recommended a full fleet to enable Ebuyer to focus on order picking. Linde responds to our needs as quickly as if an engineer was on site and the equipment is easy to operate - accidents within the company are well below national averages.” The vast volume of the warehouse demands a mixed fleet of equipment that comprises four wire guided K range combination turret/order picking trucks with lift heights to 12 metres; R 20 reach trucks with 10 metre masts which service the pick and deposit stations; N 20 low-level and V 11 medium-level order pickers which supplement the K trucks at lower lift 7heights; in addition, rider generated T 20 SP powered pallet trucks and E 16 electric counterbalance trucks take care of loading and unloading lorries. The trucks are fitted with high capacity batteries purely to keep the operations moving efficiently over the entire 17-hour shift and have battery transfer kits to limit the manual handling required, making the process much safer for employees working in the warehouse. Sanchez concludes: “In our business we need to get products to our customers fast; with Linde we can achieve just that.”
