Dual fuel system combines heat, power and benefits

A dual fuel waste to energy system that can also convert to combined heat and power has been launched by Shenton Group.
As well as being a prime power source, Duplo can also provide hot water via a heat exchanger and can be fitted with a control system to enable excess electricity to be exported to the National Grid.
Duplo runs on standard diesel, biodiesel, natural gas, biogas or a combination of any of these using the latest dual fuel technology.
The unit reduces engine wear and produces lower emissions than a normal diesel-only system, says Shenton Group, and it has an enhanced ability to cope with variations in gas quality and pressure.
While generating electricity, hot water can be provided via an optional Hexpac heat exchanger , turning Duplo into a combined heat and power system.
The Duplo is available in sizes ranging from 50kWe to 2MWe, more if required.
All units are supported by Shenton's Infinium service and maintenance package, providing fixed cost on-site service for the working life of the system.
