Electric forklift launch from Hyster

Hyster has launched the J-XN electric counterbalance forklift truck to meet the increasing demand for tough electric forklifts in the 4-5 tonne capacity market, where electric trucks now command a 20% share.

The J4.0-5.0XN series is designed, says the company, for applications such as metal fabricators, timber processors and handlers, beverage and bottling companies, breweries, paper manufacturers, pulp processors and automotive manufacturers. Hyster says reliability, rugged design and load handling ability are key features as many applications in these segments use specialist attachments and long forks to move their loads. The trucks incorporate ECO-eLo and HiP settings for optimum environmental and performance balance. AC traction and hoist motors give reliable, positive performance and the IP65-rated drive axle with maintenance-free disc brakes means that the truck works well indoors and out. The combination of a dual drive front axle and zero turn radius steer axle allow drivers to turn on the spot and stack in aisles as narrow as 4.1 m. Options include easily adjustable armrest with integrated TouchPoint mini levers, steering wheel with telescopic adjustment and memory tilt, Monotrol pedal, return to set tilt incorporated into the armrest, side battery removal, full or partial cabin with optional heater, impact sensor and carriage with integral side shift. Hyster products are distributed in the UK by Barloworld Handling.
