Palletforce picks up world record for mass bedtime read
Palletised distribution company Palletforce has achieved a new world record for organising the biggest ever bedtime story reading. More than 650 adults and children – from pallet network member companies and the public – came together at its 400,000 sq ft Burton distribution hub to set the record for the most adults reading to children in a single location.
Television presenter Michaela Strachan led the reading of 'No Job Too Tall', a children's book created by Palletforce. The hub – which is the setting for the story – was transformed for the night with fairground rides and refreshment stalls.
Palletforce published the book, which features characters like Big Trousers, Bob Stacker and Phil Truck, to engage with a new generation of would-be logistics professionals. Palletforce CEO Michael Conroy said the event was a lot of fun, but had a serious aim "to spark some interest and enthusiasm in the younger generation in our industry".
The feat has been confirmed by Guinness World Records.
