Secret skills of job hunting

A new title by business consultant and lecturer Richard Maun claims to be 'the essential manual for the modern-day job hunter'. Job Hunting 3.0 – so-called because Maun reveals three key secrets to success – is written in an engaging style and looks at a range of practical techniques that successful job hunters should adopt.

In today's competitive job market, individuals need to know how best to package their talent, find opportunities and present themselves in a confident manner. The book says that key skills include being able to build rapport with people, talk fluently about how to add value and demonstrate agile thinking to maximise core strengths. Job hunters, it says, also need to use technology to their advantage and embrace the new opportunities that social media presents. Importantly, it takes the reader through all these required elements in a clear, structured process which is easy to follow and understand. Richard Maun is a business coach, consultant and lecturer at business schools and institutions. Before setting up his own coaching and consulting business, Maun spent 15 years in manufacturing industry, his last role as general manager of a packaging firm. He has a Fellowship in Manufacturing Management from Cranfield University and is experienced in lean techniques and general business management. And Maun's three secrets for successful job hunting? That would be telling. Job Hunting 3.0 is published by Marshall Cavendish and is available from Amazon.
