Toyota promises productivity and energy lift with new truck

Toyota Material Handling has launched the Toyota Traigo 80-volt electric forklift truck (pictured), with load capacities ranging from 2 tonnes to 3.5 tonnes.

The Traigo80, says Toyota, sets a new standard for productivity, reliability, safety, operating time and overall efficiency. The Toyota Traigo 80 comes with a range of chassis, masts and options. Like other trucks in the range, it is also equipped with Toyota's System of Active Stability and AC motors as a standard. The new model is designed to operate indoors and outdoors, regardless of weather conditions, with a range of different cabs available. According to Toyota, the Traigo80 delivers major advantages for users in travel speed, acceleration, lifting speed and truck compactness. The maintenance-free Toyota AC motors coupled with the latest generation of controllers mean that vertical and horizontal speed can be increased by up to 20%, for example. It is also 20% more energy efficient than its predecessor, thanks to a new hydraulic layout and improved controllers, making it run for 20% longer between charging. The new trucks also offer battery capacities up to 775Ah. For applications that are working extensive shift patterns, the new trucks are designed to offer different battery exchange methods to suit all preferences in multi-shift operations, and batteries can be swapped either from above or from the side of the truck.
