A recent £750,000 investment has enabled additive manufacturing and low volume production experts, AME-3D, to secure a new appointment.

With over 16 years’ additive manufacturing and supply chain experience, from running SLA machines at 17 years old to leading sales activities for northern Europe with one of the biggest AM authorities of Europe, Johnathan Andrews has joined the Sheffield-based company as Business Development Manager to secure new business and empower the company to reach its ambitious business plans.

Johnathan’s appointment is amongst the first of AME-3D’s strategic growth plans.

“I’m delighted to be joining such an ambitious team at this critical moment in the company’s journey," he commented. "I was highly impressed, when I first saw the workshop and what this team could produce. The ingenuity of processes and quality of parts was of such a high standard that I really wanted to be a part of this team.”

AME-3D’s Managing Director, Rich Proctor added: “Our team is very pleased to have Johnathan join us. His experience of working within the additive manufacturing sector across the UK and Europe will empower our company to take our rightful place as one of the UK’s most knowledgeable and innovative service providers.

A small number of large 3D printing companies have dominated the market, but the application of these technologies has moved on with providers like AME-3D. We cater for both a broad and highly specialized demand with great attention to detail, becoming an integral parts of customers’ supply chains. As a member of the AME Group the opportunity to lead the way into the UK’s new, innovative manufacturing era is truly exciting.”
