Dana streamlines sales analysis with BI front end

Automotive replacement parts giant Dana Automotive Aftermarket, which claims to provide components for 95% of the world’s vehicles, says it’s consolidated and speeded access to all its business data across multiple sites and systems, by implementing self-service analysis and reporting software on top of its business intelligence. Automotive replacement parts giant Dana Automotive Aftermarket, which claims to provide components for 95% of the world’s vehicles, says it’s consolidated and speeded access to all its business data across multiple sites and systems, by implementing self-service analysis and reporting software on top of its business intelligence. The firm bought Temtec’s Executive Viewer software mid last year and says it’s now built a dynamic web-based analysis and reporting system for around 100 users that is driven entirely by them. Dana’s managers and analysts access real-time data on any of its multiple repositories all from one source any way they want to identify trends and aid decision-making. The firm worked with ThinkFast Consulting to put together a team to direct its business intelligence reporting project last year. Having implemented Hyperion’s open Essbase XTD system as an integrating platform for data extrapolation, linking consolidation and business performance management, it then examined three front end systems before going for Temtec. Danielle Proctor, the firm’s US vice president of sales and marketing, says it chose Executive Viewer essentially because it was entirely web- and browser-based, quick and easy to install and manage, and required zero training and maintenance.
